Our favourite new tech from CES 2025

The most important thing about innovation is when it can improve how we live. For innovation to be meaningful, it has to make a difference – otherwise, it’s just buzzwords and hype. The real challenge? Separating the hype from the meaningful tech as, who would have guessed AI would be where it is today?

What is CES:

Consumer Electronics Show (CES), is the epicentre of how the annual tech news agenda is set. It’s in Las Vegas every year and hosts every major tech brand (except Apple), 100,000s of guests, and is the arena of competition for the best innovations.

Future-tech, robots, connected technologies, better TVs and screens (including us!) have always been there. But this year, it seems the stories have been thoroughly dominated by AI chipsets and the brains behind the scenes of the tech we use day-to-day.

2025 was espresso Displays' fourth year at CES. In that time, we have come a long way as a brand – from startup, to scaleup, and to a global brand that is now actively working with retailers and partners around the world.

From AI-powered health tech and autonomous vehicles to groundbreaking smart home solutions and immersive entertainment systems, the show highlights how technology is becoming more personalized and accessible.

Key themes this year include enhanced connectivity, eco-friendly advancements, and the seamless blending of digital and physical worlds, offering a glimpse into the future of everyday life.

Our favourite new tech from CES 2025:

Withings Omnia AI smart mirror: Equipped with sensors in its base, Omnia conducts 360-degree body scans to assess metrics such as weight, heart health, and metabolic data. It aggregates information from other Withings devices, including smartwatches and sleep trackers, to provide a comprehensive health overview. An AI voice assistant offers real-time feedback, personalized insights, and can facilitate telehealth consultations by sharing data with medical professionals.

Roborock Saros Z70: This state-of-the-art robot vacuum designed to revolutionize home cleaning, featuring an AI-powered mechanical arm that removes small obstacles like socks or toys while delivering 22,000 Pa of suction, advanced obstacle avoidance, and seamless smart home integration. Now you can kick back and relax with a clean home while watching your new AI powered TV.

Samsung Vision AI TV intergration: Samsung is enhancing its TVs by incorporating AI, making them capable of much more than just switching channels. The new AI-powered TV lineup can understand what you’re watching and provide updates about activities in your home. These TVs integrate with smart home devices to offer safety alerts, daily updates, and even capture images from devices like Samsung’s robot vacuum to show pet behavior. Additionally, the AI can help users find information about actors, recipes, or translate languages without subtitles. Sounds super useful..and a little bit scary!

ColdSnap Ice Cream Maker: This innovative countertop appliance that produces single servings of premium ice cream, frozen protein shakes, lattes, and smoothies in just 2 to 3 minutes. Utilizing shelf-stable pods, it eliminates the need for preparation, cleaning, or maintenance—simply insert a pod and enjoy a freshly frozen treat. Lookout Ben and Jerry

AtmosGear electric skates: AtmosGear, a French startup, has introduced the world’s first electric inline skates designed for daily commuting. These innovative skates can reach speeds up to 25 km/h (15.5 mph) and offer a range of approximately 20 km (12.4 miles) on a single charge. The system includes a battery pack worn around the waist, connected to the skates via cables, and is controlled using a handheld remote that allows users to accelerate, brake, and even reverse. Don't stress, if you run out of battery, the skates have "manual mode" so you can use your legs like kids did back in the 90's.

Beatbot AquaSense 2 Ultra pool cleaner: This advanced robotic pool cleaner with AI-powered mapping and 27 sensors for thorough cleaning of walls, floors, and waterlines. Its 5-in-1 system includes water clarification and efficient debris detection, offering up to 10 hours of cleaning on a single charge. Now you can spend more time enjoying your pool and less time worrying about cleaning it.

Nvidia’s Project Digits: This compact personal AI supercomputer is designed to democratise access to advanced AI capabilities. Powered by the new GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip, it delivers up to 1 petaflop of AI performance, enabling users to run large AI models with up to 200 billion parameters locally. Basically, it’s a crazy-powerful little box that lets you play mad scientist with AI at home—no cloud, no fuss, and plenty of buzzwords to impress your friends.

The Afeela EV: Sony and Honda’s joint venture, combines luxury design, advanced semi-autonomous tech, and Sony’s expertise in entertainment, featuring a panoramic screen, AI assistant, and immersive sound. Sony’s move into the EV market leverages its strengths in sensors, AI, and consumer electronics to tap into the booming EV industry, diversify its portfolio, and position itself at the forefront of the connected car experience, where tech integration is as crucial as performance. Looks like Sony got tired of just putting their tech in cars and decided, “Why not just make the whole car?”

espresso Display 15 Pro: The 15 Pro is here to redefine portable productivity, and we’re thrilled to announce it has been named a CES 2025 Innovation Awards Honouree! Designed with professionals and creators in mind, this ultra-thin, 15-inch portable monitor combines stunning 4K visuals with touchscreen versatility, offering an unparalleled on-the-go workflow experience.
