Meet Justin Koblik, a Canadian-based visual storyteller who has mastered the art of working on the move. From luxury hotels to remote landscapes, Justin’s ability to capture stunning visuals for global brands relies on a streamlined, lightweight setup that keeps up with his adventurous lifestyle.
One tool that’s become essential to his workflow? The espresso 17 Pro—a sleek, portable display that allows him to edit, organize, and deliver high-quality content from anywhere in the world. In this Q&A, Justin shares his journey, the challenges of working on the go, and the game-changing tech that keeps him productive no matter where his travels take him.
What do you do, and what initially inspired you to do what you do?
I am a travel content creator and visual storyteller, specializing in photography and video production for hospitality and lifestyle brands. My passion for capturing the world began from a solo trip to Costa Rica in 2016 and a desire to share worldly experiences through compelling visuals. Over time, I transitioned from a traditional sales/marketing role to running my own business while combining my skills in content creation with my entrepreneurial mindset.
What is your biggest goal on your career path?
My primary goal is to create a sustainable, location independent business that allows me to travel full-time while working on meaningful projects with brands and amazing people. I aim to scale my media & production studio while also expanding my personal brand into digital products, such as resources for aspiring creators and travelers.
What defines your approach to a good workflow and setup for travel?
Efficiency, portability, and reliability define my approach. I need a streamlined setup that minimizes bulk while maximizing performance. This includes lightweight, high performing tech gear, cloud-based storage solutions, and automation tools that help me edit, organize, and deliver content seamlessly while on the move.

What have been your most significant barriers to working on the go?
One of the biggest challenges is ensuring a consistent workflow despite varying environments. Unreliable Wi-Fi, power supply issues, and carrying the right gear without overloading my luggage have all been hurdles. Time zone differences and balancing work with enjoying travel experiences also require careful planning.
What have been the most significant breakthroughs with working smarter on the go?
Investing in the right tools has been a game changer. Portable displays like espresso Displays allow me to have a dual-screen setup anywhere, increasing my productivity when editing videos or managing projects. Cloud storage and efficient battery management solutions have also helped me work seamlessly across different locations.
What’s in your luggage when you’re working on the go?
I pack light but intentionally. Essentials include:
- My camera Canon R5 and a couple of versatile lenses
- A compact drone for aerial shots
- Espresso Display for dual-screen productivity
- A MacBook Pro for editing
- Portable SSDs for fast storage
- Noise-canceling headphones for focus
- Travel adapters and a power bank for uninterrupted work
More specifically, what is your device setup for work on the go?
- MacBook Pro paired with the Espresso 17 display for editing and multitasking
- AirPods Pro noise-canceling headphones
How did you first discover espresso Displays?
I came across espresso Displays while researching portable monitors that could support my workflow as a traveling creator. Seeing how lightweight and versatile it was compared to traditional monitors, I knew it would be a perfect fit for my setup.
Tell us about your experience with espresso Displays and how it fits with your workflow?
Espresso Displays has significantly improved my efficiency at home and on the road. It’s slim and lightweight design makes it easy to pack, and the plug-and-play functionality allows me to set up a dual screen workspace in seconds. Whether I’m editing photos or videos, managing my files or handling client projects, having an extra screen makes multitasking seamless.
What advice would you give folks considering investing in their work travel setup?
Prioritize quality over quantity. Invest in a lightweight, high-performance laptop, an external monitor like espresso Displays, and reliable storage solutions. Consider ergonomic factors like a good stand, external keyboard or mouse to maintain comfort while working long hours. And don’t forget power management always have a backup battery or power bank!
What are your ‘go to’ websites, blogs, or newsletters that help you get better at your craft?
Honestly, "YouTube University" is where I’ve learned most of what I know and where I spend most of my time upskilling or gathering inspiration. There are so many amazing creators sharing high-quality tutorials and insights.
Anything else to add?
The key to successfully working on the go is adaptability. No setup is perfect, and I feel you’ll always need to tweak your workflow based on where you are. But with the right tools and mindset, you can create anywhere and turn travel into a productive, fulfilling lifestyle.
